  • We had the pleasure of visiting Sidney Tavern in East Berlin and were genuinely impressed. We tried the rum punch, which we think might be seasonal, and the raspberry and rose. Both drinks were full of flavor and beautifully balanced. The new gnocchi was incredibly soft and comforting. As a vegetarian, I was excited to see solid plant based options on the menu. You have to try the black bean burger. It was easily one of the best I’ve had locally. The atmosphere is cozy and elevated with a welcoming small town feel. The interior is filled with interesting artwork that gives the space a creative and personal touch. It’s the kind of place that feels both relaxed and refined. It’s about 25 to 30 minutes from Seven Valleys, tucked in the heart of East Berlin, making it a great little getaway spot for dinner or drinks. Overall, Sidney Tavern gets a solid 10 out of 10 from us. Definitely worth the trip.

  • In a word… phenomenal! From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcome and right at home. We were seated beside a fireplace, very nice! Our waiter Brad greeted us and presented us with the extensive wine menus. He was very knowledgeable and after making some suggestions, we made our selections. Our drinks came out quickly and were so good. I highly recommend the “Mrs. Clause’s Red Dress”. It was delicious. Dinner menus were brought out and we selected the Potato crisps to share, my husband chose the Hamburger with Steak fries and I had the Prime Beef Short Rib. I must say, everything was cooked to perfection and plated beautifully. Each course was timed perfectly. We were seated where we could see into the kitchen. I really enjoyed watching this entourage of culinary professionals interact with each other like a well oiled machine. I have seen some comments that this place is expensive, but let me say this… you get what you pay for. It is WELL WORTH the price for the quality of food and the experience. We are so fortunate to have such high caliber dining in our area.

  • Really great food. We both had the Filet Minon. Even better service. Historic building beautifully restored. Plenty of parking. This is definitely not a fast food restaurant. We had reservations for 5:00 p.m. because we were going to a 7:00 p.m. concert in Hanover. Even though we arri arrived 10 minutes before the restaurant opened we were seated immediately. We were finished after 6:30 p.m. We got to our seats at The Eich literally 2 minutes before the concert started.

  • I had a great walk-in experience with no reservations needed, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The bartender provided excellent service, making me feel right at home. I highly recommend trying the Cold Crab Corn Soup—it's absolutely out of this world! Additionally, the Watermelon Salad was a fantastic choice; it was fresh, flavorful, and truly delicious. The staff's recommendation was spot on. The ambiance was pleasant, and the place, along with the bathroom, was spotless and well-maintained. Overall, a wonderful dining experience I’d happily repeat!

  • Back again, celebrating our 12 year anniversary . This is our favorite restaurant! The food is excellent, a fantastic atmosphere, always friendly staff and the owners are so nice and accommodating. We visit every year on our anniversary and if I'm lucky a few times in between!

  • Loved the fall cocktails! Food was delicious and the chocolate cake was even better!! The only thing to be careful of is if the server asks you if you want bread to be brought out it is NOT complimentary. I had already ordered a starter, which was a garden side salad for $16 but was charged an additional $8 for bread that I only had a small piece of….just beware nothing is free if it is offered. Server was attentive. Might return but not any time soon.

  • Okay by now you guys know I rate an establishment by the level the place wishes to be. I have very mixed feelings on this place. Price point, it still needs work to be considered high end fine dining. But its almost there. When it's dark out( like it is in December after 5pm) there's no way for you to be able to tell where you're going to get in the establishment. From the parking lot you view the kitchen door and a unusable veranda (because of the cold). There's no front entrance guide or lighting to pull you towards the front door, once in the building there is no Hostess station no persons to greet you. Fortunately a young lady quickly came up to us and asked if we had reservations. I would highly recommend this if you wish to have a quiet experience. The dining areas are very loud when different groups are talking. This is probably because of the Contemporary artwork and high ceilings do not let any sound absorption. Someone even ask to be moved to another room because it was too loud. The artwork with the old historical building was just as odd as the peas in the same dish with the sausage, gnocchi, roasted vegetables over a squash puree. The gnocchi and puree were the winners of the dish as the spicy sausage bits were charred crispy. The long list of available beverages exceeded the list of items on the menu. And just seemed seasonal cocktails should have been kept to pair with the seasonal menu. This establishment did not feel like a Tavern at all. But you felt like you were Swept Away art gallery where food was a secondary thought totally not a fan of this matchup a beautiful historical building with a rustic name and if I may say, just ugly artwork. Maybe artwork of local landscapes would have been an aesthetically warmer presentation. The waitress asked us multiple times if we had been there before, had not once told us what the Specialties of establishment were or where to find the toiletries should we need the washroom. But she was pleasant and polite. All in all I do think that this place has tons of potential. maybe eating outside on The Veranda when it's warm out would be more suited to my tastes of atmosphere then the modge podge inside. Bonus.... this is an adorable part of town which is very walkable for a stroll before or after your meal
